Talked to Heather today. FINALLY. I had been trying to get a hold of her all day, but her and her sister in law had their cell phones off to conserve battery, so it's understandable. I was pretty sure they were okay, but given that the eyewall passed through last night/this morning, I didn't know how their house was holding up. Heather sounds so shaken up right now. She sounds exhausted too. Probably her knee is killing her (what with rainy weather and people's surgically messed with knees).

I talked to my uncle earlier today too, but he was rather vague about damage to my house. My family is all okay so far as I know, but the phone lines are down for most of the county so it's really hard to get a hold of people. Plus, cell towers are down, but Verizon seems to be working pretty good though, thank god (for once) they are my provider :) That and all calls to Verizon customers are including in my unlimited mobile to mobile minutes.

I will probably be driving Dave back tomorrow. Heather is going to try and drive by his apartment and see if it's still there, or if it still has a roof or what. I am hoping that it is fine, I don't know if Palm Beach Gardens got hit that badly. It's all so maddening. I love Dave to death, but I think everyone here is starting to grate on each other's nerves. We played Trivial Pursuit this evening (90s edition, thank you very much) and he was just joking around like, "Oh, c'mon, it was blah blah blah, think about it! 1996! Hellooo!!" aaaaaaaaand Josh seemed to be taking it rather personally. It's not like Dave thinks he's stupid.

I can't even believe this is an issue really. Right now it's pouring down rain, a little windy and it probably won't clear up down here until tomorrow late morning or so. I think landfall for the panhandle is tomorrow.

The phone lines will probably be down for another 2-4 days. Ok, I think I need to get some sleep, or just go lay down and read and NOT stay up watching hurricane coverage like I did last night.
