Thank God that's finally over

So, another Thanksgiving come and gone. This was the first one where I had to tackle the majority of the side dishes on my own. Given proper counterspace and a clean kitchen, it probably wouldn't have been an issue. But, before I could even begin to start any cooking I had to clean up the area. Then I could start messing it up again by cooking. On top of the cooking I had to meet with my teammates for classwork. Since I've started school again, and in one of my finest moments as a moron I decided that the first day should be in the Thanksgiving week so that I can NOT enjoy my Friday off, and instead use it to write a paper in three hours before I have to find a tropical shirt to wear to a catering event this evening (as a paid favor for my old boss I said I would make smoothies and lattes at a stodgy old Palm Beach Country Club. I should have said no.)
But, Thanksgiving was a good day of eats and family fun. I picked up Dave and then picked up my mom and the food and we headed over to Grandpa's house. The babies were there running around getting into everything. That was fun. We all got the food ready and everyone started eating. Dave seemed to fit in rather well with everyone. That was good, I was hoping everyone would get along. My green bean casserole was a hit. As was the cheesecake with strawberry topping. Yum Yum.
We spent the rest of the evening playing Trivial Pursuit and various versions of Poker before we left around midnight.
Hope everyone else had a good evening, now, if you'll excuse me, I have to do this stupid report.
