Today is going to be interesting. One of my cooks quit Thursday afternoon, and I really wasn't gonna cry about it, she made terrible pizzas. But, she was my helper today, so I'm all alone except for the driver and the dough guy. i should be able to get the dough guy to help me a little bit, but he is gonna want to get his shit done too. We'll see how it goes.

It was wicked busy yesterday. YAY! This is the second time this year that we've broken $3K on a Friday. Not by much, but it's still there. The shitty part is that $600 of those sales are coupons. That's the terrible terrible part.

I went to the RG last night with Dr. Awesome and while he was in the bathroom the jukebox began playing "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey and I just watched people around the room. It is amazing to me that no matter what is going on, when they hear the opening notes for that song they all perk up and get happy. You hear comments like, "DUDE! I LOVE THIS SONG!" or "YAY! THIS IS A GREAT SONG!" and people sway a bit, hum along...it's great. But, it's true, it's a great song. Any song that can get that reaction from 95% of a room no matter where you are, it's a good song. :)

Ok. Need to get the till going and then start on prep and my deferred order. YAY!

Don't stop believin'

I was at karaoke last night (Erika and crew were there, celebrating her birthday) and an 11-year old was singing this song. I just told Chris about it this morning and he hypothesized that it's because everybody loves Journey. And what's not to love? I mean, "Separate Ways" has that wanky keyboard solo in it, but you can FEEL Steve Perry's pain at having loved -- and lost. "Wheel in the Sky" has that great chorus; "Send Her My Love",is a timeless classic... "Wonder Who's Cryin' Now", not so much.

Was "Don't Stop Believin'" used in a TV show or something recently? It's amazing how many people, young people, know that song.

I LOVE that song. I've recently become re-obsessed with Journey.
