I'm perusing craigslist, tucsonhelpwanted.com, the UofA site, and careerbuilder and and and...there is SHIT out there for "good" paying jobs. Seriously. I don't think it's too much to ask that I make more than I currently do now. I have five possibilities that I can use for applying. This is going to take a while, I think, to find a job that I can move into that can keep me ahead of the financial game. Oof.

I knew it was bad, I just didn't know it was *that* bad.

Even the University has a hiring freeze, effective immediately.

If it's like the last one, though, positions that aren't state-funded (from federal grants and whatnot) can still open up.

Try surfing LinkedIn, now that you're a member. Look for people in Tucson who are in the industry you're looking to work in. Then look at where they look. Then apply, network, and be charming. :)

Good luck! I know it's pretty discouraging out there.
